Nora Batonisashvili (93), is originally Ossetian, a local farmer in Khurvaleti village. During the events of 2008, she stayed at home while Russian military forces dropped bombs and destroyed everything. Since the events of 2008, Russians installed barbwire fences, in the backyard of Nora's house and prohibited her to enter there, in other cases she would be detained, Nora never set foot in her own yard. It became hard for her to fight on a daily basis, she now lives on her own pension (300 Lari monthly) about 100 USD per month. Her yard was the only source where she horticulture. "When I go out of my house I'm always scared to meet a Russian soldier somewhere or even going to sleep and someone can enter my home" Says Nora.
